I love to read good books, so libraries are some of my favorite places. The Menlo Park Library is the best, a warm peaceful place set in a city park complete with a duck pond and ducks that wander around to the delight of all the children and mine too, I must admit.

I lived in Menlo Park for over forty years, and used the downtown library regularly through the years as a reliable source for fiction and non-fiction books, and for reference librarian assistance when necessary. The library has unfailing provided service to me, and beyond to the community at large. We are fortunate indeed to have “our” library and the fine staff who run it every day.

I love to read, and I choose Menlo Part Library because the people who work there are friendly and helpful.

Whenever I go there for books I feel like I am at home

I have really appreciated and made use of the Menlo Park library, since I was a child. It was my “internet” before the internet, and is such a great source of information about our world. I still prefer the printed page, to screen reading, and make much use of the interlibrary loan program. I am very grateful for all that the library offers, and the people that work there!

We walk to our local library often and really enjoy the special events that BH library offers. My son always checks out lots of books to “read.” And, when his cousins visit, they love going, too!

When I think of the library, I am reminded of an adage I heard from an acquaintance decades ago: “If an event is not in writing, it never happened.” It is comforting to know the library is there, an access to what was and is. There can be no library without librarians, and yours are remarkable. Thank you.

Incedibly friendly people work there. They make sure that you will get everything you want or need. Almost a miracle to have this so easily avaible in our community.

I am always in awe that we can borrow hundreds of books for free! A library is a wonderful resource unlike any other. My family also enjoys coming to various events at the Menlo Park Library – also free! It blows my mind, and I’m so grateful.

Menlo Park Library is a treasure. Whether I go there for a work project or to find out about new releases I enjoy the library.

The people working at the library are friendly and very knowledable. I can always count on them if I need help researching a subject.

I have always loved libraries since I was a little girl just starting to read – and dreamed of becoming a librarian when I grew up. As it turns out, I became a doctor instead – although I did volunteer as a medical research librarian for many years after retiring. But of all the libraries I have frequented in my (long) lifetime, Menlo Park library is the BEST. Everyone working there is so knowledgeable and helpful – and now that my vision is fading in my old age, I truly appreciate their selection of large print books! Thank you Menlo Park library!

I love going to the Menlo Park library because it is a calming environment where I know I can get some good reading and work done. As others have remarked, it has a very welcoming, friendly, egalitarian vibe. Everyone comes to the library. I would add, it, like Feldman’s, is a haven in this respect from so many ‘high-powered’ or expensive institutions in the neighborhood. I hope that the library does not feel compelled to do itself up into a corporate-seeming environment, even though MP has the money to do this. It is perfect as is. One of the places you can do to get a sense of community.

I love their DVD collection — I always find something to watch there.

And I love browsing their newspapers and magazines.

I like their rotating book displays as one walks in, to the right — always a thoughtful collection.

I love the Menlo Park Library because you make the process of checking out books as easy as 1-2-3! Your automated check out system using a membership card works so well – it’s a thing of beauty. Thank you!

We like the Menlo Park library because it’s an activity that my kids and I can enjoy together. The kids know they can try out as many different books as they like, and I love that I can easily request books from any San Mateo library for pick up in Menlo Park.

I love the MP Libary even though I live in Palo Alto. I worked there for several years in the late 60s and early 70s. It feels like home to me.

I love taking my baby to the library. We go to story time and have enjoyed getting to know the librarian, Jeneen, who runs it. We also spend time in the kids room, with my little one crawling around, looking at board books, playing with the blocks, and meeting other kids and parents. I have also found all of the parenting books we have from the “friends” bookshop. I can’t imagine what our first year with our little one would have been like without a FREE place to go and enjoy.

Among all the usual library services, I really enjoy the displays at the entrance. They are unique and informative. I love this way of sharing unusual info about the community and other topics.

I not only am a satisfied patron of Menlo Park library, I also am privileged to be an employee. The staff looks for opportunities to go above and beyond. We inspire each other to satisfy our patrons’ needs, whether it be to source information for a school project, to discover a wonderful book or to attend our very popular storytimes and programs. Our patrons are the best part of the day. Together we create special moments that reinforce our mission and our commitment to public service. Staying relevant in a high tech world!

I like the jigsaw puzzles that they often have for patrons to complete. I have struck up pleasant conversations with others in trying to figure out where the pieces of the puzzles fit.

I love being able to walk from my home to the Main Library and enter the zone of quiet, respect, and learning. The materials are up to date, organized, and usually right where they belong. Even if I don’t know exactly what I want to pick up when I walk in, I always leave with something great.

Libraries are essential public spaces. They are free, egalitarian, and enriching environments for all. I love stopping in to the Menlo Park Library every few weeks, and I appreciate the ways that the librarians make it easy to explore, find, check-out and track books, and to consider the reviews and opinions of other readers.

I love Menlo Park library because the staff is knowledgeable and helpful in locating even rather arcane books not in their collection. The reference staff rescues me cheerfully when I get tangled in the Peninsula Library computer system. Bless them!

I like to touch and feel the books I read. MP Library is an excellent source. It’s a great place to go when you need to concentrate and get a project completed. I enjoy bringing my grandson to search for just the right book. Also like the children’s books for sale. YOU ARE NEEDED!

I enjoy and appreciate the wealth of titles available in the library system. The ability to search for titles or authors and then get into a visible queue makes my searches fruitful and efficient. The checkout process is a breeze and the new renewal system is fantastic. Keep up the good work.

Libraries have always been a second home to me ever since I was six, 74 years ago. The kindness and helpfulness of librarians is a part of their professional training. This atmosphere of caring is expressed in their dedicated service, whether providing scholarly resources or suggesting entertaining light fiction. My career was spent as a academic law librarian and now, in retirement, I feel very fortunate and grateful to be a patron of the excellent Menlo Park Public Library.

Going to the Menlo Park library is a weekly effort for me. I often have books on hold – a great benefit that allows me to read the latest best sellers without adding to my home library – and it is always fun to see what is on the shelves in New Mysteries. I also enjoy the bookstore, where I have both purchased books and donated my old and unwanted tomes. The MP Library is an essential institution in our community. A look around proves that people of all ages, genders and walks of life use and enjoy our public library. I am a big fan!!
